WHAT WE DO
Coddiwomple Canning Company is a custom food processor based in Gap, Pennsylvania, working with local growers to turn seasonal produce into shelf-stable products.
Coddiwomple produces pantry items using traditional methods with a chef-driven focus. By processing surplus and peak-season crops, Coddiwomple helps reduce harvest waste and keeps more locally grown food in our community.
FARM CROP PRESERVATION
Coddiwomple works directly with farmers across Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Northern Delaware, and Northeastern Maryland to reduce crop waste. Surplus, seconds, storm-damaged, and bumper crops are processed into value-added, shelf-stable products—most with a 12+ month shelf life and no refrigeration required.
These products can be sold through farm stands, farmers markets, and CSAs, giving farms more to offer year-round. This helps stabilize revenue, especially during the spring and winter months when fresh product availability is limited.
FOOD RETAIL PRESERVATION
By collaborating with local food retailers, Coddiwomple develops custom, private-label products for their storefronts. Coddiwomple connects regional farms with retail partners, helping move more local crops into finished goods and onto shelves. This approach increases the use of locally grown produce and expands its reach to more customers in the area.
