WHAT WE DO

Coddiwomple Canning Company works closely with small family farms in the SE Pennsylvania area to preserve seasonal produce into household pantry staples. By using natural preservation methods we extend the shelf life of perishable food items so that they can be enjoyed throughout the year.

FARM CROP PRESERVATION We strive to reduce crop waste by offering our services directly to farmers in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Northern Delaware, and Northeastern Maryland. Unsold, second, storm damaged, and bumper crops can all be utilized to create a large variety of value-added products, most of which require no refrigeration and are shelf stable for at least 12 months . These products can be sold at local farmer’s markets, roadside stands, and CSA’s. Having these items available for purchase all year long helps small farms to increase and stabilize revenue, especially during the Spring and Winter seasons when selections can be sparse.

FOOD RETAIL PRESERVATION By collaborating with local food retailer, we create unique food items for them to sell at their storefronts under their own label. We are a connection between our farming community and food retailers in the area. By doing this, we are able to utilize more local crops and getting them distributed to more local patrons.

FARMER’S MARKETS AND RETAIL SALES At the local Famers’ Markets we attend we sell our own preserved items. Low sugar jams and jellies, fruit vinegars, herbs, spices, and seasoning blends, hot sauces and and other ferments are available for direct sales it these markets. Please check out the Farmer’s Market page for our schedule. Also, we use these markets as connection points for our farmer clients and online pickup orders. You can also find our products in few retail outlets around the area.
